We are delighted to announce that Property Tectonics (pt) has been appointed by the London Borough of Southwark to deliver what will be the largest stock condition survey (SCS) in Britain, supporting the council’s ambitious plans to improve its housing for thousands of residents.

Starting in September, this major project will see our teams working across Southwark to survey all 37,000 council homes, along with selected leaseholder properties and all communal areas, as part of the council’s journey to become a good landlord.
The results will give Southwark Council detailed, up-to-date information on the condition of key elements such as roofs, windows, kitchens, bathrooms, heating systems, lifts and more. This vital data will directly inform the council’s five-year asset management strategy, ensuring investment of £250 million is targeted where it’s needed most.
As part of our work, pt will be deploying our market leading Lifespan Housing software and mobile data collection platform, providing the council with accurate, reliable information to support effective long-term planning.
With over 30 years’ experience working alongside local authorities and housing providers across the UK, pt brings the expertise, tools and collaborative approach needed to ensure this project delivers lasting benefits for Southwark residents and communities.
Esther Brady, CEO of Property Tectonics, said:
“We’re committed to working closely with residents and Southwark Council to carry out surveys of council homes, communal areas and some leaseholder properties. This work will be supported by our market-leading software and mobile data collection platform, Lifespan Housing.
Our longstanding partnerships with local authorities and housing organisations have helped drive meaningful improvements in social housing across the UK. We’re proud to support Southwark Council in delivering essential upgrades that will benefit the local community.”
At the heart of this project is a shared goal, working closely with the team at the London Borough of Southwark, pt are committed to gaining access to homes, completing thorough surveys, and ensuring the council has the robust data it needs to deliver on its stock investment programme.
Our work will begin with a pilot survey in July on the Wyndham and Comber estates in Camberwell, with the main programme starting in September. Letters will be sent to residents in advance of visits, providing details of the survey, what to expect, and how to identify our trusted surveyors.
This project reflects our shared commitment with Southwark Council to ensuring residents have access to safe, high-quality homes, and the information gathered will help deliver essential improvements for years to come.
We’re proud to be supporting this landmark project and look forward to working with residents and the Southwark Council team to make it a success.
