Property Tectonics were appointed by the C&C Housing Trust to conduct full surveys to a large sample of blocks held in the Lifespan Housing system we also provide. The surveys included external and internal planned maintenance, attributes, photos and HHSRS.

The process:

• Exported a complete address list from Lifespan Housing
• Undertake the surveys and import them into Lifespan Mobile data collection app
• Undertake a rigorous data validation (computer and human audit)

Upon completion of the physical survey, we carried out a full data validation exercise. The software data validation queries were completed after the surveys were uploaded and again after surveyors confirmed they had completed the validation exercise. The surveys were not accepted until the surveys met the required accuracy levels. By doing this we could double-check and identify that the validation process was carried out in full and to acceptable benchmark standards.

The heart of any survey project is good communication with the client,
stakeholders, residents and pt and its staff all of which also help to
achieve good access rates. We obtained the names of all the scheme
managers, landline numbers and mobile numbers at the outset and
C&C assisted with this via its FTP site files and in accordance with data
protection legislation.

We understood that C&C needed to be kept up to date on survey progress and as such we developed a bespoke facility in the Lifespan mobile application to record in real-time when each property was visited and surveyed and any additional information provided by surveyors which may be valuable to C&C staff. This was captured within Lifespan Housing with a dashboard facility available to view the information immediately after the information was uploaded.

We have a highly experienced team of building surveyors who, as well as their building qualifications, are trained and qualified in asbestos surveying, domestic energy assessment and fire risk assessment. All surveyors were experienced and appropriately trained in asset surveys and energy assessment.
